December 8.12.1981, XNUMX | Mitsubishi enters the US market

It wasn't until December 8, 1981 that Mitsubishi decided to set up an American subsidiary and start building a dealer network. Other Japanese manufacturers have been in the market for decades, but Mitsubishi originally had a different idea. 

From Mitsubishi collaborated with Chrysler: their cars were sold under the American brand, but the cooperation did not satisfy the Japanese concern.

Mitsubishi has decided to establish its own subsidiary in the USA. In the first year, a dealer network was built, covering 22 states. The brand is still on the market today, offering mainly Mirage, Outlander and Eclipse Cross.
