AWD - All wheel drive

Indicates an all-wheel drive system. Usually this term is used on (road) cars to distinguish them from off-road vehicles, or off-road vehicles. This system works in the same way as a permanent all-wheel drive system, but without low gears, so it is not recommended for heavy off-road use.
