BAS Plus – Brake Assist Plus

It is an innovative Mercedes active safety system that is especially useful in the event of a collision with the vehicle or an obstacle in front of it.

It is a device capable of performing emergency braking whenever the driver of the vehicle does not notice an imminent danger, thereby reducing the speed of the vehicle and reducing the severity of the impact.

BAS Plus - Brake Assist Plus

The system is capable of operating at speeds between 30 and 200 km / h and uses radar sensors also used in Distronic Plus (adaptive cruise control installed in the home).

BAS Plus integrates the Pre-Safe system, which warns the driver with audible and visual signals if the distance to the vehicle in front decreases too quickly (2,6 seconds before the hypothetical impact). It also calculates the correct brake pressure to avoid a possible collision, and if the driver does not intervene, about 1,6 seconds before the collision, it automatically activates the braking system until an emergency braking occurs that can decelerate by 4 m / s2. about 0,6 seconds before impact
