Does it hurt to die in a car accident?

Has your loved one been in a car accident?

While the issue of pain at the time of a loved one's death always pops up in the family's head, it doesn't always come out of their mouths. This is a difficult topic to talk about, especially when information about the tragedy is still fresh. Not every death causes pain to the victim, not every car accident causes suffering. When is the pain the least?

Type of traffic accident and injuries

First of all, it should be emphasized that each car accident is individual. Although the event data sometimes appears similar, the true cause of the accident could be completely different. Head-on collisions, as a rule, are characterized by serious damage. Two cars moving at a certain speed hit each other with the front of the vehicle. When death occurs, the victims usually have a fraction of a second to realize what is happening. With the last of their strength, they want to defend themselves, pull over to the side of the road, into a ditch, onto the side of the road or into another lane. More often than not, it is already too late for this, and there is not enough time for the driver to realize what is happening to take steps to avoid the collision. The force the cars collide with damages the interior of the bodywork, causing the deaths of the occupants. They, of course, tried to defend themselves to the end in order to avoid an accident. However, when this fails, the adrenaline that accompanies them cuts off pain receptors in the last moments, allowing the deceased to leave without suffering. The greatest suffering then is experienced by the family, which has many problems and unresolved cases. Friends want to accompany them, express their condolences in person or send them condolences text. It is important that the mourners are not left alone, but that they feel the presence of people who sympathize with them.

The situation is different when death occurs a few hours or a few days after the accident. The accident victims are then put into a pharmacological coma, which prolongs the action of the adrenaline produced during the accident. Thanks to sleep, such a person does not feel pain, and his body is not subjected to additional damage.

Do victims of a car accident feel pain while intoxicated?

Getting into any vehicle while intoxicated is not a good idea. Intoxication leads to a significant limitation of the cognitive and motor functions of the driver. Although it seems to him that he has drunk a little, and his picture does not double, in fact his reaction to the events taking place on the street will be not only belated, but also inadequate to the situation. A person who died in a car accident while intoxicated is not fully aware of subsequent events. Obstruction, impact, tire screeching, airbags exploding, smoke - all this causes great confusion. Only towards the end can the victim become aware of what has just happened, although this does not always happen.

Intoxication not only deprives of orientation on the road, but also makes the body more relaxed, which means that the victim does not resist the impact, his body goes limp, and this in turn reduces bone fractures or external damage. Internally, the ruptured organs cause bleeding and eventually lead to death. Here, too, as in the head-on collision described, there is too little time to think, react, and therefore feel pain. Accident victims usually die quickly, partially unconscious and without pain.

Will a passenger get hurt in a car accident?

A car accident looks a little different from a passenger's point of view. Such a person realizes the accident later than the driver, which means that he has even less time for the last words, thoughts and reflections. In the nervous system, the level of the hormone adrenaline rises, which helps to survive difficult times. Adrenaline arises from a decrease in the activity of nerve receptors that do not transmit pain to the brain, so that the victim does not feel it. So, no matter where you sit in the car, the pain of a crash is negligible.

Participants in the accident do not think about the pain. Their mind is busy trying to save themselves and avoid death. However, when the worst-case scenario becomes a reality, they leave as peacefully as possible, without suffering and pain. Therefore, it is important that friends and acquaintances take care of the families of the victims, to whom these events cause the most suffering.
