Test drive Brabus 700 6 × 6: Sega Apocalypse

There are things in this world that are difficult to describe or categorize on any basis.

Mercedes is undoubtedly a company that has earned a huge number of superlatives over the years. And this is not surprising, because after the creation of the first car in the history of mankind, the brand began to strive to offer the best of the best. Well, the technological miracle that now appears before us also clearly wants to be “the best” in many ways. Based on our renowned G-model, the extreme modification specialists Brabus have created a pickup truck with a giant cab, four separate seats, an open cargo area, three axles, a body length of 5,80 meters, a ground clearance of 46 centimeters and a maximum draft. from one meter. Such monsters have long been used by the Australian military, but on the road, especially in Europe, the car looks like an impending natural disaster.

Four tons of dead weight

Armed to the teeth with five differential locks, a crawler gear, professional off-road vehicles and a self-contained on-board compressor, this G 63 AMG 6×6 seems ready to take on any challenge it may face anywhere in the world. If this car isn't going anywhere, you'll have to rely on a chain car, a submarine, or a helicopter... The 5,4-litre V8 bi-turbo engine can handle the four-ton weight of a Brabus 700 6×6 with ease. looks like the perfect vehicle for the impending apocalypse.

The fact that this car was created by Brabus hardly surprised anyone - after all, this company traditionally likes to use AMG products as the basis for creating even more extreme developments. Although this monster with a base price of 451 euros is relentless on its own, the engineers from Bottrop decided to install their B010S-8 bi-turbo V63 engine under the hood, resulting in the extreme Mercedes mutating into a Brabus 700 700×6 which, thanks to new turbochargers, as well as changes to the catalysts and exhaust system, it produces a staggering 6 hp. 700 Nm is the maximum thrust value - electronically limited...

The presence of the B63S-700 engine increases the price by 17 euros, but the top speed remains unchanged. It is limited to 731 km / h - and thank God. Because the three-axle giant makes it clear to everyone long before reaching 160 km / h that the 100-inch wheels do not want to follow their relentless direction. Even on a perfectly flat surface, a pickup truck with a width of 37 meters constantly wriggles in one direction or another, and the steering system, which is practically devoid of adequate feedback, certainly does not make it easier for the driver to fight the arbitrariness of a heavy car.

A sight that never goes unnoticed

With the Brabus 700 6×6 you can be sure that you will not go unnoticed – never and nowhere. From other machines, people are looking at us with wide eyes, their expressions radiating from surprise to outright fear. Pedestrians and cyclists simply freeze in place and remain with their mouths open. The reason for this reaction is not only in the monstrous body and 30 LED daytime running lights, but also in the frightening sound of the Brabus sports exhaust system. Yes, indeed, it can work in quiet mode, activated by a button on the steering wheel. But this car awakens the most elementary instincts in people and, we confess with all our hearts, we decided to leave the valves in the exhaust system open. Even the lightest throttle is accompanied by a V8 roar that can make you shudder. We have such a strange feeling that now we are being heard in Detroit, Dubai and St. Petersburg at the same time. Or maybe further...

At full throttle, the tachometer needle reaches 6000 divisions, and acceleration from standstill to 100 km / h takes 7,4 seconds. In a compact car, this achievement could be called simply "fast", but in the Brabus 700 6x6 everything looks "dramatic". The fact is that after climbing the electric steps (an extremely practical solution, which, however, costs 10 euros on the one hand!), You can't help but feel like a truck ready to conquer the Rocky Mountains. than in the car.

On the other hand, the interior, made of high-quality natural leather and Alcantara, is a pleasure. What really makes it difficult to answer the question is what kind of car is this - an uncompromising fighter or a luxury item for entertainment. In any case, Brabus equipped the test 700 6 × 6 with everything that came to mind, so the price of the car is somewhere in the region of 600 euros. A fabulous sum - there are no two opinions. However, if the apocalypse is coming, we would still like to have the Brabus 000 700×6 on our side. Here she is, just in case...
