Optimized version of the 8-liter V7 LS7,0 engine with more power

American manufacturer Chevrolet, through its Chevrolet Performance division, has just unveiled the new LS427 / 570 engine, an optimized version of the LS8 7-liter V7,0 unit that offers more power and torque than the latter.

570 h.p. and 732 Nm. This is exactly the power that the new LS427 / 570 engine has to offer, or 65 hp. and 95 Nm more than the 7,0-liter LS8 V8 found in the Camaro Z / 28 and Corvette, among others. C6 Z06 and was developed at the time in conjunction with Corvette Racing.

To achieve this result, Chevrolet Performance engineers fitted the new engine with wet sump lubrication, a new camshaft, new valve springs, a forged crankshaft, titanium connecting rods and low profile intake manifolds.

“The new LS427/570 engine is designed and developed from the legendary LS7 to create the most powerful naturally aspirated box engine available in our catalog today,” said Jessica Earl, General Motors Marketing Specialist.

Considered one of the best V8 engines of its time, the LS7 engine hasn't been in production for five years: it's a 505 hp engine. was only available from Chevrolet Performance, in the form of a unique "box engine".
