What to do when a tire bursts?
Sudden rupture of a tire is rare, but very dangerous. What could be the reason? As a rule, we are dealing with long-term negligence - primarily driving on under-inflated tires and not regularly inspecting tires for wear.
- First of all, it is worth checking the degree of wear, i.e. tread depth, and the presence of visible damage. You should also check the age of the tire. The maximum period is 10 years from the date of manufacture. After this time, the rubber loses its properties. It must be remembered that improper storage of tires can shorten their life by many years, explains Zbigniew Veseli, director of the Renault Driving School.
