Gaining momentum, a company of enthusiasts (Gottlieb, Maybach and Duttenhofer) create an internal combustion engine with a capacity of five horsepower. Feeling successful, they register the Daimler Motoren Gesselschaft car brand.

With the advent of the First World War, the country's economy was sharply shaken. To avoid collapse, competitors decide to merge companies. After the merger in 1926, the world famous automobile brand Diamler-Benz was born.

According to one of the many versions, the small concern was striving to develop in three directions. The founders planned to produce engines and vehicles for travel by land, air and water.

Among history lovers, there are other variants of the appearance of a three-pointed star in a circle. Another version explains that the symbolism refers to the company's cooperation with the Austrian Consul Emil Elinek. The trio spawned several racing sports cars.
