What is an aluminum emergency bar?
Content
The aluminum emergency bar has a rather misleading name - although it is a beam, and made of aluminum, it should not, under any circumstances, be used for emergency work or demolition. Since this type of rod is made of aluminum, it is not a high-strength tool and does not resist deformation or bending. This type of bar is actually very similar to a leveling bar (see What is a leveling bar?) in that it is not intended for prying to remove or destroy materials, but for aligning flanges and bolt holes. .However, unlike a leveling rod, an aluminum breaking rod should not be used to lift heavy metal sheets into place or locate bolt holes in a structure due to its lack of strength and resistance to deformation.Aluminum emergency rods are best suited for light locating tasks such as checking the alignment of bolt holes and flanges in precision work such as vehicle design, manufacturing and maintenance. They can also be used with great care to bend small sections of pipe without damaging the inside radius of the pipe. However, we recommend that this only used as a last resort for bending - where a more suitable tool such as a pipe bender or pipe bender can be used, we highly recommend it.This type of rod is made with a square section shaft and two slightly curved tapered ends. The square stem can make the tool easier to work with because it has four flat sides that you can rest your hand on.
