The 2.5-liter Audi AFB 2.5 TDI diesel engine was assembled by the company from 1997 to 1999 and installed on such popular models as the A4 B5, A6 C5, A8 D2 and Volkswagen Passat B5. After upgrading to more modern EURO 3 economy standards, the diesel engine changed its index to AKN.
