The 2.4-liter ZMZ 402 engine was assembled at the Zavolzhsky plant from 1981 to 2006 and installed on a number of popular models of domestic automakers, such as GAZ, UAZ or YerAZ. The power unit existed in a version for the 76th gasoline with a compression ratio reduced to 6.7.
This series also includes internal combustion engines: 405, 406, 409 and PRO.

The motor is very noisy, prone to twitching and vibration due to its design.
The weak point of the engine is considered to be the ever-flowing rear crankshaft oil seal.
The unit often overheats and the workmanship of the cooling system is to blame
