Federal-Mogul Motorparts has announced the expansion of its range of Ferodo Eco-Friction brake pads with low or no copper content.

Ferodo Eco-Friction technology is patented according to original installation (OE) standards and is preferred by a number of car manufacturers. Along with protecting the environment, it aims to improve the braking distance, which is important for safe driving. Tests on Eco-Friction pillows show that they are not only as good as traditional copper-containing components, but are often significantly better than them. For example, the Volkswagen Golf VI has 10% shorter braking distances with Ferodo Eco-Friction brake pads at 100 km / h and 17% shorter at 115 km / h. Other production models such as the Peugeot Boxer and Fiat Ducato reduce braking distances. at 12 m at 100 km / h and 16 m at 115 km / h. Ferodo Eco-Friction pads are currently being installed as standard in models like the new Audi A4 i Mercedes-Benz C-Class, and widespread use by other manufacturers is expected in the coming months. According to the agreements reached, Eco-Friction will also be installed in A-, B- and M-classes, and from 2018 model year Federal-Mogul Motorparts will supply Daimler with five million Ferodo Eco-Friction brake pads per year.
