British Autocar compared four SUVs and recreational crossovers. Tesla has received accolades for its Supercharger network, Jaguar I-Pace for its driving experience and Audi e-tron for its comfort. The rating was taken by Mercedes EQC, which combines the advantages of competitors.

Electric SUVs - in principle, there are plenty to choose from

The review includes two cars from the E-SUV segment (Audi e-tron, Tesla Model X) and two from the D-SUV segment (Mercedes EQC, Jaguar I-Pace), although it must be clearly stated that the electric Jaguar is a crossover, then there is a car that sits somewhere between a traditional SUV and a regular passenger car.

Tesla Model X he was praised for his Supercharger network, which not only worked, but also quickly replenished energy and was quite dense for the country (55 points in the UK). The car also performed better in terms of range, although it was not compared on the basis of "who gets the most on battery" (source).

Reviewers, however, disliked the interior aesthetics, the feeling of being in contact with a not-so-premium product – the trim pieces felt cheap – and the noise in the cabin.

Jaguar I-Pace will be the first choice for all drivers. It was praised for its driving experience and well-tuned suspension. Defects? The car offered the weakest range in the group and performed even worse than the Audi e-tron. The problem was also in fast charging, which did not work properly. For every three attempts to connect to the charger, two ended in fiasco..

Audi e-tron was characterized as radically different from the Tesla Model X. Driving comfort, soundproofing levels and the appearance of the car, different from the Tesla's bulging, were highly praised. The car turned out to be less attractive than the Mercedes EQC and Jaguar I-Pace. The problem was navigation, which led the driver to ... a non-existent charging station.

Mercedes EQC wins the entire ranking... It is supposed to combine the advantages of its competitors, offer an enjoyable driving experience, while at the same time being spacious and with ample range. Although its appearance has been described as “a GLC that has been in the oven for too long,” it was rarely mentioned in the content, mostly when describing good performance. He just drove and everything was fine.

  • drive: Four-wheel drive,

  • price: from 334 600 zł, from 343 788 in the version from the article (AMG Line).
