Will Niu electric scooters conquer Europe? Premiere of Niu M + and Niu GT on the belt, prices from 10,3 thousand PLN

Niu calls itself "the largest electric scooter company in China." The manufacturer is becoming more daring in Europe and the latest Niu M + and Niu GT models can help the company conquer our continent. At slightly higher prices than the competition, two-wheelers promise a lot more options.

Niu was founded in 2014 but is growing fast. Instead of fighting for a low price, the company is trying to distinguish it from other products of Chinese technical thought. Therefore, Bosch motors and batteries based on Panasonic 18650 cells – the same type and manufacturer as the Tesla S and X – are appearing in electric scooters destined for the European market.

Two new models will debut in Europe in September: Niu M + and Niu GT. The first equivalent of a 50cc gasoline scooter See, it can travel at speeds of up to 45 km / h and is expected to offer around 100 kilometers of range thanks to a 2,1 kWh battery. Niu M + price will be equivalent to 10,3 thousand zlotys.

Niu GT is more powerful: it can reach speeds of up to 70 km / h, which is already bearable in the city. The scooter has two batteries with a total capacity of 4,2 kWh, which, in an economical driving mode, allow you to drive 140-160 kilometers on a single charge. Price? New GT will cost 4 euros, which, taking into account the Polish VAT, will mean about 17,8 thousand PLN.

Both scooters allow online software updates (!), So it is possible that over time they will receive new functions. Thanks to satellite navigation modules, two-wheeled vehicles are protected from theft, and also allow you to follow our driving style or check the status of scooters (batteries) online.

The manufacturer has a large number of salons serving the brand in Western, Northern and Southern Europe, but for now they let go of Eastern Europe - we will not officially buy Niu scooters in Poland yet (source):
