HFC - Hydraulic Fade Compensation

Optional ABS function adopted by Nissan to reduce braking distance. It is not a brake distributor, but is used to reduce the “discoloration” phenomenon that can occur on the brake pedal after particularly heavy use.

Fading occurs when the brakes overheat under extreme operating conditions; a certain degree of deceleration requires more pressure on the brake pedal. The moment the brake temperature rises, the HFC system automatically compensates for this by increasing the hydraulic pressure in relation to the force applied to the pedal.
