Iveco Daily 2007 Overview

Daily delivery vans and cab-chassis derivatives have claimed a lot of innovation over the past 30 years, and manufacturer Iveco is just as pleased with the latest models.

A light commercial vehicle chassis frame, direct injection turbodiesel engines, a 17cc van with an internal height of 210cm, common-rail diesel injection and even an engine that (in Europe) runs on natural gas are among the criteria stated for the Daily van. in these 30 years.

With a variety of models—seven wheelbases, low, medium, and high roof versions, two engines and different power levels, a wide range of payloads, double cab versions, and single or twin rear wheels—you can make thousands of Dailys without two being the same.

It is estimated that every five minutes, somewhere in the world, someone buys a New Daily van.

The latest Daily - or New Daily, as it's also called, with a capital letter - retains its rear-wheel-drive configuration.

All engines comply with the Euro 4 standard, some models have exhaust gas recirculation and do not require a diesel particulate filter.

All engines are four-cylinder, in-line, with four valves per cylinder and double overhead camshafts. They use a common rail injection system.

Lighter units with one rear wheel use a 2.3-liter diesel with variable geometry vanes in the turbocharger. Most Daily models have a three-litre turbodiesel engine. HPI offers 109kW of power and 350Nm of torque. The HPT version increases power to 131kW and 400Nm of torque, but remarkably the torque stays constant from 1250 to 3000rpm, suggesting good engine flexibility.

Oil and filter changes are scheduled every 40,000 km, limiting maintenance costs and vehicle downtime.

The Daily has independent front suspension, while the solid rear axle can be fitted with air suspension to carry fragile loads.

The convenience and comfort of driver and passenger is a priority for the Daily. They have a parking sensor, central locking with remote control in the key, thoughtful storage spaces in the cab, including four DIN-sized compartments. Navigating the cab is made easier with a dash-mounted shift lever and a shorter parking brake lever (made possible by its lighter action). The seats are comfortable and supportive.

The Daily can be equipped with a six-speed manual transmission or a six-speed sequential automatic transmission.

Payloads range from 1265kg to extra long wheelbase and cab chassis up to 4260kg.

The short van has a wheelbase of 3000mm, the medium van has 3300mm and 3750mm, the long van has 3950mm, 4100mm and 4350mm depending on the type of van or chassis with cab, leaving two models with an extended chassis with cab and a wheelbase of 4750mm.
