How to properly adjust the spark plug gap on a VAZ 2107

Most car owners do not even know that the size of the gap between the side and center electrodes of the spark plugs affects many engine parameters.

1. Firstly, if the spark plug gap is incorrectly set, then the VAZ 2107 will not start as well as with optimal parameters.
2. Secondly, the dynamic characteristics will become much worse, since the mixture will not ignite correctly and will not all burn out.

What should be the gap on the candles of the VAZ 2107?

Due to the fact that both contact and non-contact ignition systems are used on the “classic” models, the gap is set in accordance with the installed sparking system.

• If you have a distributor with contacts installed, then the gap between the electrodes should be within 05, -0,6 mm.
• In the case of an installed electronic ignition, the gap of the candles will be 0,7 - 0,8 mm.

How to correctly set the gap between the electrodes of the candles on the VAZ 2107?

In order to adjust the gap, we need a spark plug wrench or a head, as well as a set of probes with plates of the required thickness. I bought myself a model from Jonnesway in one online store for 140 rubles. This is how it looks:

First of all, we unscrew all the candles from the engine cylinder head:

Then we select the required thickness of the dipstick for your ignition system and insert it between the side and center electrode of the spark plug. The probe should go in tightly, not with great effort.

We carry out a similar operation with the rest of the candles. We twist everything into place and be content with the excellent engine performance.
