Kia Niro. This is the version for Europe

Kia showed what the European version of the new generation Niro looks like. The car will appear in some markets later this year.

Built on a third-generation floor platform, the new Niro has a larger body. Compared to the current generation, the Kia Niro is almost 7 cm longer and has a length of 442 cm. The novelty has also become 2 cm wider and 1 cm taller.

The eco-friendly new Niro is based on three latest-generation electrified powertrains, which include hybrid (HEV), plug-in hybrid (PHEV) and electric (BEV) versions. The PHEV and BEV models will be introduced later, closer to their market debut.

The Niro HEV version is equipped with a 1,6-liter Smartstream gasoline engine with direct fuel injection, an improved cooling system and reduced friction. The power unit provides fuel consumption of about 4,8 liters of gasoline for every 100 km.

In Korea, sales of the new version of Kia Niro HEV will begin this month. The car will debut in some markets around the world this year.
