This leads to poor traction and can lead to road accidents. The coefficient of adhesion to the road in summer tires is 8–10 times worse than in winter tires in the cold season.
It is necessary to change all four tires at the same time, although some amateurs believe that it is enough to change the tires only on the driving wheels.

According to law
Regulation in the field of replacing summer tires with winter ones is carried out by the following legislative acts:
- Technical regulation TR TS 018/2011;
Technical regulation TR TS 018/2011 indicates when to change tires - Appendix 1 to the Government Decree No. 1008 of 0312.2011. Here are the criteria required for a successful MOT;
- Government Decree No. 1090 of 23.10.1993. Here are the characteristics of the rubber, in case of non-compliance with which it is impossible to operate the car;
- Chapter 12 of the Code of Administrative Offenses - responsibility for violation of the rules for the use of tires.
According to clause 5.5 of Appendix 8 to the Technical Regulations, winter studded tires cannot be used in the summer months, that is, June, July, August. This means that if you have not changed your studded tires before June 1, you are breaking the law.
The second paragraph of this paragraph says that you cannot drive a car that does not have winter tires in the winter months: December, January, February. That is, summer tires cannot be installed until March 1, as this is a violation of the law.
There are no requirements regarding non-studded winter tires. This means that it can be used all year round.
