Short test: Opel Corsa 1.4 ECOTEC
"Sports" car models that are sporty only externally (or in the main chassis), of course, are not uncommon. You can find them on almost all brands and they just play on the card of the eye. Namely, there are quite a few customers who don't really need the power, consumption and other higher costs associated with owning pocket rockets.
They just need a sporty look and a little sporty soul. The recipe for these is simple: more attractive looks, a slightly lower and sturdier chassis, seats that offer more traction, preferably a colored stitching or perforated leather on the steering wheel, possibly a different color of gauges and an exhaust system that otherwise provide full middle engine to a pleasant sound to the ears.
This Corsa fulfills most of the features listed. Yes, the steering wheel is comfortable and sporty in the palm of your hand, the seats have slightly more pronounced side bolsters, the black color and light rims together with the spoiler at the rear emphasize the sporty look. So far, everything is beautiful and correct (and also quite accessible).
Then ... Those white lines from the nose to the back of the car are optional, which is good because they are on the verge of decency. They are somehow understandable (and even in a much less obvious form) on some really sports car, and on such a Corsa they work, somehow ... hmmm (infantile?
And, despite all the sporty appearance, the running equipment does not even come close to the sporty one. The 1,4-liter petrol grinder is sleepy at low revs, bearable at mid revs, and struggles (also noticeable in the sound) at higher revs. Since it can only be combined with a five-speed gearbox, all these features are especially pronounced.
Therefore, it is necessary to forget about sportsmanship, come to terms with the drowsiness of the engine and adjust the ride for it. Then the noise will be low and the consumption will be advantageously low. Yes, the ECOTEC mark on the engine is no accident. But he doesn't have a sports line.

evaluation
Sports? It seems to be accurate, but in fact it is a sheep in wolf's clothing. And there is nothing wrong with that if you know about it (or even want to) at the time of purchase.
We praise and reproach
sleepy engine
only five-speed gearbox
