Short test: Peugeot 3008 1.6 HDi 115 Active

The 3008 received a new grille or front end that better matches the brand's fresh design features, new headlights with LED lighting (daytime running lights), the lion badge has also been changed, and the taillights have been redesigned. In general, on the one hand, it is barely noticeable, and on the other hand, compared to its predecessor, the updated 3008 makes a much fresher impression, especially if you find yourself in a shopping center parking lot.

Inside, some materials have been changed, but no major changes. The cabin still has a fairly tall center console with a gear lever, which makes it kind of close to the steering wheel.

In the driver's workplace, the 3008 certainly can't hide the fact that, despite the upgrade, it's a generation older than Peugeot's most recent offerings. Instead of a nice little steering wheel and gauges above it (okay, this concept doesn't work for all drivers, but most shouldn't have a problem with that) here it's big (not only compared to, say, a 308, but also to most car steering wheels currently on the market) the steering wheel and the instruments the driver looks through also fall short of Peugeot's latest design guidelines. Of course, that doesn't mean they're opaque or less useful - they're just older. Some will like them better.

The longitudinal offset of the driver's seat could be slightly larger, the rear bench has a two-thirds section on the wrong (left) side, and the trunk (along with the removable double bottom) is large enough for families. ... There remains a two-piece opening with the lower part of the tailgate that opens downwards and can serve as a shelf or seat. Helpful but not required.

Hiding on the other side of the car is a 1,6-liter turbodiesel, which on paper would otherwise fall into the "well, probably it will be powerful enough" category, but in reality it turns out to be alive, not too loud and economical, especially on lowest rpm. On our standard lap, consumption stopped at five liters, which is not a bad result considering the front surface of the car and, conversely, the lack of a start-stop system, and the overall test consumption is more than satisfactory.

Sure - it would be bigger if the 3008 had all-wheel drive, but it doesn't, despite the shape that hints at it a bit. For the most part it's not necessary, but it's still interesting to see other guests in the hotel's slightly sloping parking lot when the wheels are empty and the car exists. Well, yes, this time we blame the tires that belonged to not quite the best brands. Transmission? Manual. Fine? Yes, but no more.

Takle 3008 with a large number of serial (Active means dual-zone air conditioning, bluetooth, rain sensor, cruise control and speed limiter) and optional (rear parking sensors, navigation, music playback via bluetooth) costs about 27 thousand according to the price list. but that certainly doesn't mean you can't get it for less money. And considering what he's offering, it's not a bad deal.

evaluation

  • The refurbished 3008 remains the 3008, only it is better and (with this engine) a bit economical. We know that some compromises in hybrids still have to be made.
