Very rudely: it differs from the Transporter in that there are two benches with three seats each behind the driver, the cabin is surrounded by more pleasant materials instead of hard and durable plastic, and windows with control panels are installed above the seat. passengers' heads. temperature settings. Otherwise, everything is the same as in the Transporter, which does not mean that the driver and front passenger in the front seats are poorly looked after. The T6 remains one of the most ergonomic vans around, as the driving position and the placement of all elements surrounding the driver are thought out to the smallest detail. A high seating position, good visibility and well-supported elbows, as well as the proximity of the gear lever - this is the recipe for undemanding overcoming a large number of kilometers. With all the storage spaces, we missed one that was sheathed or surrounded by rubber as things rolled back and forth happily. Sometimes a sliding door on the left side of the car can also come in handy, but it's commendable that the only ones on the right are supported by a system that completes the soft-closing phase of the door for us.
The trip to the "Caravello" itself is nothing but a "van". The car responds well to the steering wheel, and the chassis isn't set up to bounce all together, but absorbs any bumps in the road well. The interior soundproofing is also good, and while the engine is mostly loud on the outside, it's not overly noisy inside. "Ours" was powered by the well-known 150 "horsepower" TDI, which in some ways is quite satisfactory if the car is fully loaded, otherwise it's quite peppy when the car is empty. If you opt for a manual transmission, you will have to work hard shifting gears due to the short calculated gear ratios, so we strongly advise you to consider a dual-clutch DSG, which may be more desirable in such a car than the four-wheel drive found on the test subject. .
