Lada Vesta FL: what is remarkable about the expected novelty of AvtoVAZ

At the end of 2018, Lada Vesta became the best-selling domestic car in Russia and the most profitable AvtoVAZ model. But this was not enough for the manufacturers and they started developing an improved version - Lada Vesta FL. It will be updated mirrors, grille, rims, dashboard and a number of other details.
What is known about the new Lada Vesta FL
At the beginning of 2019, the Scientific and Technical (NTC) in Togliatti released four test copies of the updated Lada Vesta, which will receive the Facelift (FL) prefix. Unfortunately, there is no complete information about what the car will be like. Even the date of the planned presentation and release is missing. So far, there are bits of information about the new Vesta from unofficial sources. For example, it is known that some of the parts will be produced at the Syzran SED plant - this was announced by the participants of the enterprise at a conference dedicated to the development of the automotive industry.
Characteristics of the updated Vesta
The technical part of the car is unlikely to undergo major modifications: inside there will be a bunch of an HR16 engine (1.6 l., 114 hp) with a variator (CVT) Jatco JF015E. The main task of the changes is to make the Lada Vesta more modern and youthful, so the exterior and interior will mainly undergo transformation.
The car will receive a new grille and wheel rims (however, what these changes will be is unknown). The windshield washer nozzles will move from the hood to a plastic trim located directly under the windshield. How it will look, we can roughly imagine, since a similar solution has already been implemented in the updated Lada Grant.
Presumably Lada Vesta FL will have a redesigned buttons on the driver's door. There will also be an electric folding mirror system (which, by the way, will change shape a bit and become more streamlined).
Changes in the interior will affect the front panel. A connector for contactless charging of the gadget, as well as a holder for a smartphone, will be mounted here. The design of the electronic handbrake will almost certainly change. The steering wheel will be slightly smaller than that of the previous Lada Vesta. The seats and armrest will not change.

When to expect the start of sales
It is planned to finish running the new Vesta in September-October 2019. EIf everything goes well, then the car will be on the conveyor by November. You can wait for the appearance of the car in showrooms no earlier than the spring of 2020, since until that time AvtoVAZ has official sales plans and Lada Vesta Facelift has not been announced in them. It is possible that the release of the car to the masses will be postponed until the end of 2020 if, for example, pre-production prototypes fail testing and need to be improved.
What motorists think about the planned update of Vesta
Why is it called an update? The old Vesta has so many jambs, so I think that Lada Vesta Facelift is just an attempt by AvtoVAZ to correct mistakes.
I am quite satisfied with the motor of the old Vesta. I would like, of course, 150 forces and 6th gear, but it will do, especially since it makes the car convenient for the price. I heard that the new model (with the insides saved) will cost about 1,5 million. My opinion is that it will be a little expensive for a simple restyling.
Auto-folding mirrors are a great option. Now in Lada you constantly have to fold the mirrors with your hands, but you can’t do this on the go, and when driving in narrow places there is a risk of getting caught. This update in Vesta seems to me the most reasonable.
Rumors about updating Lada Vesta have been circulating on the Internet for the second year, but the manufacturer still continues to intrigue and does not give any official statements, does not publish original photos or videos. It is only known that the Lada Vesta Facelift will not change its "stuffing", but will acquire improved exterior and interior details.
