Have you ever heard of "Ducati 916"?  Launched in 1994, it replaced the famous 888 and has since become a legend.

Find out everything you need to know about the legendary Ducati 916 motorcycle.

Ducati 916: breathtaking design

Italian brand Ducati 916 was born in 1993 and was voted motorcycle of the year 1994. Upon release, it impressed motorcycle enthusiasts all over the world with its design and outstanding performance.

This bike owes the beauty of its aesthetic to the designer Massimo Tamburini, who made it an aerodynamic machine with a pointed nose and a deep body. This engineer also made it a stable and impact-resistant race bike with a tubular trellis chassis that makes the car both tough and lightweight. This design makes the Ducati 916 very comfortable and easy to maneuver.

What's more, its vibrant red color has made the Ducati 916 even more coveted since its release, and even then still.

Legendary motorcycles: Ducati 916

The Ducati 916 engine is very powerful and the brakes are reliable. This means the bike offers stability (with its body), precision (with its grips and reliable brakes), power and speed (with its engine).

Add to these characteristics the typical Ducati roar heard through the two mufflers placed under the seat.

Some historic feats achieved with the Ducati 916

The Ducati 916, as a legendary racing bike, has gone down in biker history with its sensational exploits.

The first unprecedented feat achieved with the Ducati 916 was King Carl Forgati, who won 1994 Superbike World Championship. After that first win, this rider went on to win three more Superbike World Championships in 1995, 1998 and 1999, always with his Ducati 916. Top of the cake: From 1988 to 2017, Carl Forgati was the rider with the most Superbike World Championship wins. Thus, it is undeniable that the Ducati 916 is a champion motorcycle and that it deserves its legendary title.

Following in the footsteps of Carl Forgati, Troy Corser also achieved his first victory in Superbike world championship thanks to the Ducati 916. That was in 1996, a year after his friend's second victory. Unlike Carl Forgati, Troy Corser only had two victories in this championship, and this second (in 2005) was not achieved with the Ducati 916. Who knows? Perhaps if he had kept his Ducati 916, he would have won as many races as Forgati.

To summarize, if the Ducati 916 is ranked among the legendary motorcycles, it is because a year after its release, it was named motorcycle of the year, and allowed him to win the Superbike World Championship. Its legendary prestige is also achieved through its eye-catching aesthetics and powerful engine that make it a true racing beast.
