History of the Lexus automobile brand

Contents FounderEmblemHistory of the automobile brand in models Lexus Division - the full name of the Lexus car - is one of the lines of cars that belong to the Japanese corporation Toyota Motor. Initially, the model was intended for the American market, but later it was sold in more than 90 countries around the world. The company produces exclusively premium cars, which is comparable to the name of the Lexus company - "Lux". These cars were conceived as the most expensive, luxurious, comfortable and defiant, which, in fact, was achieved by the creators. At the time of the idea to do something similar, the business class segment was already securely occupied by brands such as BMW, Mercedes-Benz and Jaguar. Nevertheless, it was decided to create a flagship. The best car of the best available at that time in the American markets. It had to be comfortable, powerful, superior to competitors in everything, but affordable. So in 1984, a plan was developed to create the F1 (flagship 1 or the first of its kind and the best of the best flagship among cars). Founder Eiji Toyoda (Eiji Toyoda) - President and Chairman of 'Toyota Motor Corporation' in 1983 put forward the idea of creating the same F1. To implement this idea, he appointed a team of engineers and designers who were to develop a new brand of Lexus. In 1981, he gave up his post to Shoichiro Toyoda and became chairman of the company. Accordingly, by 1983, he was already fully, headlong into the creation and development of the Lexus brand and brand, having recruited a worthy team for himself. Considering that the Toyota brand itself assumed reliable and inexpensive cars, the mass production of which was never questioned. Now Toyoda had to create a brand that would not be associated with accessibility and mass. It was work on a unique flagship car like no other. Shoiji Jimbo and Ichiro Suzuki were appointed lead engineers. These people already then had great recognition and honor, as the engineers who created the famous brand. In 1985, it was decided to monitor the American market. The team was interested in all the details, down to pricing and the viability of different groups of buyers. Focus groups were selected, which included both buyers from different financial sectors and car dealers. Questionnaires and surveys were conducted. These studies were conducted to identify the needs of potential buyers. Work on the development of the Lexus design did not stop either. It was conducted in the American design company Toyota, which was called Calty Design. July 1985 brought the new Lexus LS400 to the world. Emblem The emblem of the Lexus automobile brand was officially developed by Hunter/Korobkin in 1989. Although it is known that Toyota's creative design team worked on the logo between 1986 and 1989, the Hunter/Korobkin emblem was still preferred. There are several versions of the very idea of the emblem. According to one version, the emblem depicts a stylized refined sea shell, but this story is more like a legend that has no basis. The second version says that the idea of such an emblem was put forward at the time by Giorgetto Giugiaro, a designer from Italy. He proposed to depict the Stylized letter “L” on the logo, which would mean refinement of taste and no need for pretentious details. The brand name speaks for itself. Since the release of the first car, the emblem has not undergone a single change. Nowadays, auto shops and car dealerships produce and sell emblems of different colors, from different materials, and so on, but the logo still remains the same. The history of the automobile brand in models The launch of the Lexus automobile brand took place in 1985 with the famous Lexus LS 400. In 1986, he had to go through several test drives, one of which took place in Germany. In 1989, the car appeared on the first US markets, after which it conquered the entire American car market by the end of the year. This model did not resemble the Japanese cars that Toyota produced, which once again confirmed its focus on the US market. It was a comfortable sedan. The body more resembled cars designed by Italian car designers. Later, the Lexus GS300 also left the assembly line, in the development of which Giorgetto Giugiaro, already known for his development of the logo for the Lexus brand, took part in the Italian. The most prestigious line of that time, the GS 300 3T, came from the Cologne developers of Toyota. It was a sports sedan, which was distinguished by a forced engine and a streamlined body shape. In 1991, the company released the next Lexus SC 400 (coupe) model, which almost completely repeated the car from the Toyota Soarer line, which, after several restylings, almost ceased to differ from its prototype even externally. The history of cars that repeat the style and image of Toyota did not end there. In the same 1991, the Toyota Camry was released, which received its American version in the Lexus ES 300 line. Later, after 1993, Toyota Motors began producing its own special line of jeeps - the Lexus LX 450 and LX 470. The first was an improved and Americanized version of the Toyota Land Cruiser HDJ 80, and the second surpassed its relative Toyota Land Cruiser 100. Both luxury SUVs with all-wheel drive and the most comfortable interior. Cars have become the flagship of the executive class among SUVs in American society. 1999 pleased the American market with its compact Lexus IS 200, which was shown and tested a year earlier in the fall of 1998. By the 2000s, the Lexus car brand already had an impressive lineup and established itself in the US markets. However, in 2000, this range was supplemented by two new models at once - IS300 and LS430. Earlier models were subject to varying degrees of restyling and a number of other changes. So for the model indices GS, LS and LX, the Brake Assist Safety System (BASS) system, which concerned braking forces, was made, installed and, as a result, became the standard for these models. The effort during braking was optimally distributed for each weather and brake condition. Today, Lexus cars have a completely different unique design and perfect vehicle equipment package. They have the most powerful and perpetual motion machines, all the details of the brakes, gearboxes and other systems are thought out to the smallest detail. In the 21st century, the presence of a Lexus means the status of a person, his prestige and a high standard of living. From this we can conclude that the original idea of the Lexus developers was fully implemented.
