Going on vacation, we most often use the car. However, it often happens that we forget about control on the site. To avoid unpleasant surprises along the route, here are some simple tips on what to remember when setting out on a long journey.
At the beginning, we will check the basic equipment of the car - a triangle, a fire extinguisher, a first aid kit, a jack and jack things without 
that we don't have to go anywhere. “Often drivers drive with a fire extinguisher with an invalid legalization date, so we cannot count on it to work properly in a life-threatening situation,” says Leszek Raczkiewicz, Peugeot Ciesielczyk Service Manager. When going abroad, it is also worth remembering the rules in force in this country. For example, in the Czech Republic, France and Spain, a complete set of spare bulbs is required. On the other hand, when traveling in Austria, we must have as many reflective vests as there are passengers in the car, and when traveling along the winding Croatian roads, we must not forget the two warning triangles.
Comfortable ride
Heat is pouring from the sky, and ahead of us is a 600-kilometer route. What to do so that the trip does not turn into a holiday nightmare? Before leaving, make sure that the air conditioner is working properly. Manufacturers recommend replacing the filter every two years, but you should know that the efficiency of the air conditioner, and hence the level of filter cleanliness, largely depends on the operating conditions of the car. The filter most often becomes dirty when it has not rained for a long time, which means there is a lot of dust in the air. In addition, some drivers use air conditioning all the time, regardless of weather conditions, while others use it only on hot days. This, in turn, determines the different state of the filters. Importantly, when the filter becomes clogged, it limits the ventilation. Therefore, it is recommended to regularly remove the filter and check if it is full.

So, we have a working air conditioner, we checked the tire pressure, the performance and lighting settings, the condition of all fluids and brake pads. We equipped the machine with tools, a fire extinguisher, a vest and a triangle. It would seem that we are ready to go on a journey. However, before you put the suitcases in the trunk, you must have a container with spare parts. Why? It may happen that on the way we have to replace a burnt out light bulb, and the nearest station will be within a radius of 50 km. There is also a concern that we will not find an identical light bulb in its assortment. – Containers are provided for each type of car, they are not too expensive and give a feeling of safety and peace of mind on the road, says Leszek Raczkiewicz from Peugeot Ciesielczyk.
Summing up, when planning a trip, we must not forget about the current state of our car. To avoid a forced stop, have all fluids, brake condition and tire pressure checked at a service center. The cost of the check is only PLN 100, and our security is priceless. However, if we don't plan on using a pre-trip inspection at a car dealership, let's pack our car's service book. Do not forget to also write down the phone numbers of service stations and technical support.
