Composition and features

The marking abbreviation includes the designation of the field of application (hydraulic oil) and the average value of the kinematic viscosity in the operating temperature range (46 mm²/with). Other designations are less commonly used - NM-46 brand oil (from "petroleum oil") and MG-30U oil.

The main factor determining the effectiveness of the use of MGE-46V oil is the stability of its viscosity from the main operational characteristics - friction conditions, the speed of pumping the working medium in pipelines and the external air temperature. At the same time, the working pressure in the hydraulic control system based on axial piston engines must be at least 35 MPa, with a short-term increase to 42 MPa.

Oil production technology includes selective purification of industrial oil, and the addition of a complex of special additives to its base - antioxidant, anti-corrosion, depressant and anti-foam. As a result, MGE-46V oil acquires the following quality characteristics:

• Improved ability to resist frictional processes that increase with the duration of the hydraulic control system.
• Resistance to oxidative wear, which is due to the presence of oxygen in the gaps between the rubbing surfaces.
• Density uniformity throughout the working volume, regardless of the speed and pressure of the working medium.

It should be noted that hydraulic oil MGE-46V (as well as less viscous hydraulic oil MGE-10A) is produced in accordance with generally accepted international standards - DIN EN 51524-2 and ISO 3104. The closest foreign analogues are HLP-46 oil from the British Petroleum trademark and Tellus 46 oil from the Shell trademark.

Technical specifications

The main ones are:

1. Density at room temperature, kg/m³: 880 ± 10.
2. Kinematic viscosity, mm²/s at a temperature of 0 °C, not more than: — 1000.
3. Range of values ​​of kinematic viscosity, mm²/ s, at a temperature of 40 ° C: 41,4 ... 50,6.
4. Kinematic viscosity, mm²/s at a temperature of 100 °C, not less than: — 6.
5. Flash point ^°C, not less: 190.
6. Thickening temperature, °С, not less: -32.
7. Acid number in terms of KOH: 0,07 ... 0,11.
8. Presence of insoluble impurities, % at the control service life of 2500 hours, not more than: 0,05.

The presence of water and chemically aggressive organic substances is not allowed in fresh oil (the latter is achieved by additional processing of the oil with solvent vapors).

If a VMGZ hydraulic type oil is available, it can be used instead of the type of oil in question by adding pour point depressants to the fresh product, which help to reduce the freezing point of the oil. In this case, the resulting composition is intensively mixed with indirect (but not direct!) Heating of the container. Calcium alkyl phenolate, K-110D additive, or other substances specified by the oil manufacturer are recommended as depressant additives.

Application

Mineral-based hydraulic oil type MGE-46V, corresponding to the international ISO classification, ensures the functioning of hydraulic systems operating at high specific pressures and requiring a high level of extreme pressure properties. The oil is also suitable for other functions that require high resistance to oxidative processes: for example, in mechanical transmissions operating under relatively light loads, as well as in drives with variable speed sliding on bearing surfaces.

Hydraulic oil MGE-46V is fully compatible with commonly used elastomeric materials, which are often used in moving joints: perfluorates, nitrile butyls, polyurethanes or polyester.

Optimal types of engines running on oil:

1. Vane pumps.
2. Piston pumps.
3. Gear pumps.
4. Hydraulic motors.

During operation, oil filters should be periodically cleaned, and the oil should not be mixed with other similar media without monitoring the final viscosity indicators recommended by the manufacturer. Do not store oil in open containers.
