Electric Zero Motorcycles (2019): Old-Fashioned Prices, More Power, More Mileage

Zero Motorcycles have announced the release of updated versions of the Zero S and Zero DS two-wheeled motorcycles. For most of the models, it was decided to improve the technical parameters of cars, while keeping the price at the same level as this year. Zero Motorcycles is by far the largest manufacturer of electric motorcycles in the world.
Zero S, or road bikes
The Zero S line consists of motorcycles on road tires (called slick tires), which allows them to achieve higher speeds and ranges than the DS. The cheapest Zero S ZF7.2 (2019) will have 35 percent more horsepower than this year's model, which means 62bhp. (46 kW) instead of the previous 46 hp.
Range Zero S (2019) ZF14.4 will be 10 percent higher than today, which is 359 kilometers in the city, 241 km mixed and 180 km at high-speed when driving at a speed of 113 km / h (the manufacturer promises). It is also worth adding that the battery capacity of Zero motorcycles is indicated by numbers in the two-track designation: Zero (D) S ZF 7.2 mA 7.2 kWh, (D) S ZF14.4 – 14,4 kWh.

Zero Dual-Sport or DS and DSR (2019)
For the 2019 version, the DS will receive the same upgrade as the S model: the engine will receive 35 percent more power and the top speed will increase by 8 percent. This means that the cheapest Zero DS ZF7.2 will have 62 h.p. (46 kW) power and accelerates to 171 km / h. The battery will not change to keep it lightweight and, as you might guess, a reasonable price.
The manufacturer states that range of motorcycles on the highway - 63 km (at 113 km / h), in the city - 132 km, in mixed mode - 85 kilometers. In turn, the Zero DS ZF14.4 should receive a battery derived from the DSR model, which should provide a range in the city of 328 kilometers, and on the highway - 158 kilometers.
Zero prices for electric motorcycles at the level of BMW C-evolution
Price Zero S ZF7.2 and Zero DS ZF7.2 starts today at $10, which is the net equivalent of PLN 995. If we choose a battery twice as large - Zero S / DS ZF41,5 - we will pay at least 14.4 dollars for the motorcycle, that is 13 thousand PLN net.
