MV Agusta F4 1000R in color Brutale 910R

We consider it an honor and recognition that we have been invited to such a prestigious presentation, which in the automotive world can only be compared with the presentation of one of the new more powerful Ferraris. In any case, this is a special event.

Venue: Misano Adriatico, site of the Superbike World Championship. Those 301 kilometers per hour are real, measured on an enclosed racetrack with a calibrated measuring device, and we look forward to checking if this is true and what the bike is capable of, for which they need nearly five million tolar.

MV Agusta is known to connoisseurs of motorsport history and technology enthusiasts. John Surtez, Mike Halewood and the great Giacomo Agostini "Ago" won the Grand Prix races with her, to name just the legendary names. The numbers also show that they are special. More than 3.000 wins in various championships, 270 GP races and 37 world titles. Yes, it's true, exactly 30 years have passed since their last victory in the Grand Prix, but the closest Honda recorded 200 anniversary victories before this year's race in Laguna Seca.

In their slogan, they also use the term MV Agusta - “motorcycle art” for good reason, which, in our opinion, means motorcycle art, because their products are artistic in nature. The design was signed by Mr. Massimo Tamburini himself, one of the greatest figures of modern design. In order not to breed nonsense, the fact that, in the form that you see in the photographs, the MV Agusta F4 has hardly changed for seven years, speaks. Remember what the Japanese supercatlets were like seven years ago? We, too! During this time, they received as many as 35 “Motorcycle of the Year” titles around the world, and the power of the unit itself (previously 750, now 1000) has increased by 50 “horses”.

Meanwhile, the bike has undergone changes that have continually propelled it forward to compete with the competition, if we can call it big series motorcycle competition at all. A more appropriate term is in line with trends.

And the last step in the evolution of this supercar is the F4 1000R. The 130-kilowatt (174 hp) engine at 13.000 rpm is capable of 10 “horsepower” more than the entry-level F4 1000S. In fact, the new F4 1000R sits somewhere between the previously mentioned model and the particularly limited F4 1000 Senna, which also differs by two million tolars. It may sound strange, but the "R" version is actually the best compromise between price and performance. But there are many. The fact that a motorcycle that can safely be called a road superbike showed up at the Misano race track is simply stunning.

Look out for the high-set seat, the sharp front geometry, where excellent filigree 50mm Marzocchi USD forks (13 compression and 32 return) forks are treated with carbon nitrite for a smooth sliding surface and everything you can buy now at this specialized plant in Bologna, reveals the character of the motorcycle. The latest Brembo radial brakes taken from MotoGP and Superbike race cars, a large pair of 320mm brake discs and Brembo Y-shaped alloy discs leave no doubt. If not sooner, they disappear on the track.

The engine, which sounds beautiful tune through the titanium quartet under the seat, is incredibly energetic with decisive acceleration and instant throttle response that feeds information to the Marelli fuel injection unit. The "walk" through the precise and smooth cassette drivetrain will fall in love with any rider. So the whole bike runs perfectly harmoniously, and on the tricky Misano circuit (very bad asphalt in some places, a combination of fast and slow turns), three introductory laps were enough to get you very fast. Of course, the speed then increases and decreases at a slower pace, but the bike definitely allows you to ride very fast. We were particularly impressed with the engine, which simply does not run out of power at low, medium or high revs.

The brakes worked flawlessly for the entire 20 minutes of each ride, with excellent consistent feel on the brake lever without a hint of fatigue. The same can be said for the front, which follows the exact line and perfectly swallows bumps. The solid tubular frame also contributes greatly to this reliable and smooth ride. Only riders with superbike racing experience have expressed a desire to adjust the Sach rear shock, which, however, requires a lot of work due to the enormous engine power and the bike's relatively heavy weight (192 kilograms dry weight).

The fact that they have not forgotten a single detail is also evidenced by the fact that the clutch, as one of the most stressed parts of the engine, is now larger. The F4 1000R is available in a single-seat version, which clearly shows what it is intended for, and can also be supplied with a passenger seat on request. To fall in love with MV Agusta, you must first meet her. Then the price is clear. But, unfortunately, all the same height.

Brutal 910R

For a few laps, so it tasted, we also got the most "pointed" Brutale, which differs from conventional radial brakes, more power (100 kW or 136 hp) at a dizzying 12.000 rpm. For a stripped-down roadster, that's well above average! The motorcycle, which weighs 185 kilograms dry, initially seems so light that it could be mistaken for a 50 cc moped. See But its brutal power, beastly squeak of exhaust pipes, exceptional ease of control and super-powerful brakes make it clear that this is a motorcycle that is really a toy for experienced motorcyclists as well as for motorcyclists. Believe it or not, women are supposedly crazy about this motorcycle. Price: 4.237.999 XNUMX SI XNUMX
