MTB Direction: Around Nice With 3 Escampetta Powder
Beautiful, final stop, everyone gets off ... This is the last stop for the girls of Poudre d'Escampett. After Catalonia and Corsica, they finished their Mediterranean tour in Nice, the hinterland of which is famous for mountain biking.
But this is not the usual command we find in this episode ... surprise guest: Sabrina Jonye. The three-time DH World Champion replaced Leela in no time after suffering a shoulder injury in early September and so joined Lucy Paltz on the Croisette.
Now Sabrina is a mountain bike coach and yoga teacher, she is “almost” local as she lives in Var. But the surroundings of Nice are still unfamiliar to him, but it is Greg Germain, a local rider, instructor and founder of 1001 Sentiers, who will guide all these little people in the mountains of the hinterland ...

We quickly realized that the area is a paradise for mountain biking. The terrain is hilly, extremely varied, sometimes alpine and lower, frankly Mediterranean, sometimes overgrown with chestnut trees or more open, in some places gray earth, olive trees ... The hilltop villages, still preserved and authentic, are pure wonders with their narrow streets and their houses clustered around the church.
In two days we had only a small (and too short) idea of the potential of the region, but we enjoyed it to the maximum. Greg first suggested us a trail between forest and gray soil, not far from Beaux-les-Alpes, with a magnificent narrow canyon, all of fine gravel and elusive supports ...
After a good drive down the Escarena slope, we continued our journey towards Peyon, a gorgeous little hilltop village still protected from tourism. The secular trails among the olive trees completed the beautiful day.
A pebbled, dry, dusty, spicy bush scratching its caviar, undoubtedly we are in the middle of the Mediterranean! There are several hallucinatory trails for all tastes ... Here we filmed most of our episode before returning to Eze in the afternoon along a very short trail, but with an insane sea view. ...
It's actually quite a rare commodity in the area because the coast is quite urbanized, with the only "coastal" trails running between Nice and Monaco. “
