Audi e-tron review: excellent soundproofed cab, real range of about 330 km [Auto Holy / YouTube]

A review of the Audi e-tron has appeared on the Auto Świat YouTube channel. The journalist of the magazine tested the car in Dubai, therefore, in good weather and the temperature is 24-28 degrees Celsius. Depending on the driving mode, the electric range of the Audi is estimated at 280-430 kilometers, while the real average is 330 kilometers.

The author of the review was delighted with the silence in the car while driving. Other drivers are talking about this, and in the movie Autogefuehl you can really hear that at 140 km / h you can talk in the car without raising your voice.

Power consumption and range

After a whole day of testing (416 km), the journalist AutoSvyat estimated that Audi e-tron must travel 330 kilometers without any sacrifices... This figure is also the result of the Audi e-tron WLTP range declared by the manufacturer (400 km / 1,19 = 336 km *). Recall that the battery has a capacity of 95 kWh.

All the way the average energy consumption was 29,1 kWh / 100 km. at an average speed of 66 km / h. A lot, but it is clear that this was not allowed. When driving outside the city at a speed of 80 km / h, only 18 kWh / 100 km were achieved - which is already bearable.

On the highway, at an average speed of 119 km / h and several strong accelerations, Audi consumed 33,5 kWh / 100 km. In the city, the computer showed 22 kWh / 100 km. Easy to convert this these values ​​correspond to the range from 280 to 430 kilometers of range. on a single charge, subject to movement from 100 to 0 percent (which is not always possible).

This is about 100 kilometers worse than the competing (larger) Tesla Model X 100D, which, however, is 180 PLN more expensive:

Other curious facts about the drive

Audi engineers boasted that the car could accelerate sharply several times. The word "several" is symptomatic here - it is not specified how many times, but it is known that strong acceleration causes a large load on the battery. The same large load occurs when driving at high speeds.

An Auto wiat journalist reports that The Audi e-tron reaches a top speed of 200 km / h in about 20 minutes.... Which is unlikely to please the Germans buying cars to quickly "jump" between cities on the autobahns, but this will not be an obstacle in other European countries.

Another interesting fact is that Audi prefers to drive the car with a more powerful rear engine (190 hp) and avoids the transmission of drive to the front axle as much as possible. The problem is so surprising that the front engine is weaker (170 hp), so in theory it should provide more energy savings.

*) When converting the WLTP to EPA bands that are closest to real values ​​in mixed mode, we noticed that the WLTP / EPA ratio is around 1,19. That is, an electric vehicle with a declared WLTP range of 119 kilometers must travel 100 kilometers (119 / 1,19) in mixed mode. At the same time, WLTP covers the urban range of electric vehicles well.
