110 Land Rover Defender 400 P2021 Review: Snapshot

The P400 is the petrol version of the MHEV (Mild Hybrid Electric Vehicle) in the new Land Rover Defender lineup. 

It is powered by a 3.0-liter turbocharged inline-six petrol engine with 294kW at 5500rpm and 550Nm at 2000-5000rpm. 

It has an eight-speed automatic transmission and permanent all-wheel drive system, a dual-range transfer case, and Land Rover Terrain Response 2 with selectable modes such as grass/gravel/snow, sand, mud and ruts. , and rock crawling. 

It also has center and rear differential locks.

The P400 is available in four trim levels: P400 S ($95,335), P400 SE ($102,736), P400 HSE ($112,535), or P400 X ($136,736).

It is available with five, six or 5+2 seats in the five-door 110.

Standard features on the Defender range include LED headlights, heating, electric power door mirrors, proximity lights and keyless interior auto-dimming, as well as an auto-dimming interior rearview mirror.

Driver assistance technology includes AEB, 3D surround camera, ford detection, cruise control and speed limiter, lane keeping assist, as well as traffic sign recognition and adaptive speed limiter.

It also has a Pivi Pro system with a 10.0-inch touchscreen, a smartphone package (with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto), DAB radio, satellite navigation, and a 180W six-speaker sound system.

Fuel consumption is claimed to be 9.9 l/100 km (combined).

The Defender has a 90 liter tank.
