Opel began selling the Mokka-e, a beautiful segment B electric crossover. Thanks to the courtesy of the Polish branch, we were able to see it within a few hours. Impressions? Outside, it turns out to be a visually interesting, extraordinary car, but you need to get used to the interior.

In the articles in which we describe experiences, we by definition do not try to be objective. Sometimes we have no reason to keep it, for example, due to too short contact with the car. More distant materials are "reviews" or "tests".

Remember that we are evaluating electric vehicles from the perspective of other electricians. If you still drive internal combustion cars, the electrician will ALWAYS feel more pleasant to you because he will be quieter, he will drive better thanks to a low-mounted heavy battery, and he will accelerate like crazy. We guarantee 🙂

Opel Mokka-e direct competitor to Hyundai Kona Electric

What immediately catches the eye about the Mokka-e is the design, which is reminiscent of the GT X concept. Even in plain white, the car is hard to miss, and with a distinctive green color, the model screams: “Look how intriguing I am! ” This luscious shade literally makes the car stand out from the background.

In the smallest segment, the eyes follow the Honda e, as it once did the BMW i3. In segment B you want the streets to turn green with mocha-ebut we doubt this will happen. Visible Ultimate with 19-inch wheels costs money more than PLN 160 thousand... That's a lot, even if we want to be noticed.

Specifications? Opel Mokka-e will offer us the same as other models of the former PSA group. Battery has the potential 45 (50) kWh – is halfway between Kona Electric 39,2 and 64 kWh – the engine offers 100 kW (136 HP) power... They drive front wheels... There is also a variant of internal combustion, but we did not understand with it, we do not know if it drives at all 😉

The car is comfortable to drive, it is muffled better than the Corsa-e, the whistle of the inverter is significantly suppressed. The counters, which were so strict in the Corsa-e that it hurt, look better too. It uses not only a wider screen, but also a more beautiful body. Another thing is that the display is still blank:

The biggest surprise is the interior, or rather: the view from behind the wheel. Despite the fact that the Mokka-e is an urban crossover, we will have the feeling that we are sitting underground or in a bunker. In front of us we see most of the mask, almost parallel to the ground - you can even see it in the photo above, although it was made around the neck. In Corsa-e and e-208, the position is also specific and rather low, but here the feeling is rather paradoxical. This sight definitely takes some getting used to.

The car is also not economical. At 10 degrees Celsius, the average consumption recorded by meters at a distance of 146 kilometers was 29,5 kWh / 100 km (other testers). Even during leisurely city driving, after only a few acceleration tests, we found it difficult to drop below 20 kWh / 100 km (exactly: 19,9 kWh / 100 km). Okay, the weather was unfavorable, it was cold, it rained at times, but the electrician driving around the city should at least get to the real WLTP zone.

By procedure Is it a WLTP Opel Mokka? must overcome up to 324 units per battery, up to 277 kilometers in kind. Meanwhile, our careful ride through the city will end maximum after 226 km, and earlier testers had to go to the charging station after 150 kilometers. At higher temperatures, it is likely to be up to 250-280 kilometers in the city and 170 kilometers on the road. Small. The situation is saved only by charging power up to 100 kW.

And these forms try to reach the heart, bypassing the mind 🙂
