According to the EPA, the Polestar 2 has a real range of 375 kilometers. Not so bad

The US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has published the results of the Polestar 2 range tests. The car traveled 375 kilometers on a single charge from a 74 (78) kWh battery. Power consumption in combined mode is about 23 kWh / 100 km (230 Wh / km). According to the WLTP procedure, Polestar 2 covers 470 distance units on a single charge.

Polestar 2: EPA, WLTP and Real Coverage

The www.elektrowoz.pl portal always provides EPA data as “real range in mixed mode” because numerous tests show that this approach works. However, we take into account the values obtained through the WLTP procedure, because it tells what the maximum range of the vehicle will be. in the city or when driving relatively slowly out of town (up to ~ 470 km).

Polestara 2, Volvo XC40 Recharge P8, Tesla Model 3 Long Range AWD and Tesla Model Y Long Range AWD ranges in accordance with EPA (c) fueleconomy, gov

Flight range of Polestar 2 according to EPA (375 km) below the value we calculated from the WLTP (~ 402 km), which means that the EPA data may be slightly underestimated. We do not know how this is done in Chinese cars, but with European and South Korean cars this is a fairly popular approach: the manufacturer, influencing the EPA result, gives slightly lower values than the car can achieve.

According to Nextmove measurements, when driving on the "I try to keep 130 km / h" highway, the Polestar 2 should reach 273 kilometers:

According to the EPA, the Polestar 2 has a real range of 375 kilometers. Not so bad

This fits very well with the rule that motorway driving cuts WLTP range in half plus power reserve to the charging station. Or about 30 percent based on the vehicle's EPA range.

The Polestar 2 is a high-end C car. It has two engines (AWD) with a total output of 300 kW (408 hp) and a battery with a capacity of 74 (78) kWh. The same transmission uses an electric Volvo XC40 Recharge P8, which, however, due to the larger body shape, gives worse results:
