Why does my car start but won't start?

There can be many problems that the car starts, but does not start, and all with varying degrees of complexity. Not all of these faults are costly, some may even be as simple as replacing a fuse.

No one likes to go out and realize that for some reason the car won't start. We can try many times and it still won't turn on.

Vehicles are made up of many systems that are responsible for the operation of the vehicle, so There are many reasons why a car won't start.. This does not mean that the fault is serious and costly, but troubleshooting can be time consuming.

It is most recommended to have a specialized mechanic check for possible causes, but you can also solve this yourself, you just need to know what to check and possible faults.

In this way, here we will tell you some of the reasons why your car will start but won't start.

1.- Battery problems

A weak or dead battery can damage many engine starting systems, especially in vehicles with automatic transmissions.

The electric starting system doesn't necessarily stop the engine every time you stop the car, but a weak or dead battery can interfere with the system. If the battery is very weak, it may even prevent you from starting the engine.

2.- Fuel problems

If there is no fuel in the car, it will not be able to start. This is simply because they did not supply gasoline or supplied the wrong type of fuel.

The problem can also be caused by a blown fuse or relay that is preventing the fuel injector from delivering the correct amount of fuel to the combustion chamber.

Another problem could be the fuel pump. If it does not work or malfunctions, it may cause the engine to not start.

3.- Faulty ECU sensor

Most modern cars have sensors that relay information to the engine. The two main sensors on the engine are the camshaft position sensor and the crankshaft position sensor. These sensors tell the ECU where the engine's main rotating components are, so the ECU knows when to open the fuel injectors and ignite the fuel mixture with the spark plugs.

If any of these sensors fail, the engine will not be able to start.

4.- March

If the starter is defective, it will not be able to draw the amount of amps needed to start the ignition system and fuel injectors.
