Weather. How to survive the heat while driving? The heat can be not only dangerous to health, but also make it difficult to drive safely. High air temperatures contribute to the feeling of fatigue and irritability, which negatively affects the ability to drive a car. Dehydration can also be dangerous. Coaches from the Renault Driving School advise drivers on what to do in hot weather.

In hot weather, it is important to dress appropriately. Bright colors and natural, airy fabrics such as fine cotton or linen can make a difference in travel comfort. If the car has air conditioning, use it too, but with common sense. Too much difference between the temperature outside and inside the car can lead to a cold.

Hot heat causes a lot of water loss, so fluid replacement is necessary. Dehydration can lead to headaches, fatigue, and even fainting. Older drivers should be especially careful, because the feeling of thirst decreases with age, so it is worth drinking even when we do not feel the need.

For long trips, let's take a bottle of water with us. However, do not leave it in a sunny place such as a dashboard.

– Given the heat, when checking the technical condition of the car, special attention should be paid to the efficiency of the air conditioner or ventilation. We will also check the fluid level in the car and tire pressure, which can change under the influence of high temperatures. It should be remembered that they can also lead to faster battery drain, says Zbigniew Veseli, an expert at the Renault Driving School.

If possible, it is recommended to avoid driving the car at maximum air temperature. If we have to go a longer route, it is worth starting early in the morning and taking a break at the right time.

If possible, it is better to put the car in the shade. This greatly reduces its heating. No matter where we park the car, we must not leave children or animals inside. Staying in a warm car can end tragically for them.
