Traffic Laws. Overtaking.

14.1

Overtaking non-rail vehicles is permitted only on the left.

14.2

Before overtaking, the driver must make sure that:

a)not one of the drivers of vehicles that are moving behind him and to whom an obstacle can be created has not started overtaking;
b)the driver of the vehicle, which is moving ahead in the same lane, has not signaled the intention to turn (rebuild) to the left;
at)the oncoming lane to which he will leave is free from vehicles at a distance sufficient to overtake;
d)after overtaking, he can, without creating obstacles to the vehicle being overtaken by him, return to the occupied lane.

14.3

The driver of the overtaken vehicle is prohibited from obstructing overtaking by increasing the speed of movement or by other actions.

14.4

If on the road outside the settlement the traffic situation does not allow overtaking agricultural machinery, the width of which exceeds 2,6 m, a slow-speed or large-sized vehicle, its driver should move as far to the right as possible, and, if necessary, stop on the side of the road and let transport means moving behind it.

14.5

A driver of a vehicle performing overtaking may remain in the oncoming lane if, after returning to the previously occupied lane, he will have to overtake again, provided that he does not endanger the oncoming vehicles and also does not interfere with the vehicles moving behind him with a higher speed.

14.6

Overtaking prohibited:Back to the table of contents

a)at the crossroads;
b)at level crossings and closer than 100 m in front of them;
at)closer than 50 m before the pedestrian crossing in the village and 100 m - outside the village;
d)at the end of the climb, on bridges, overpasses, overpasses, sharp turns and other sections of roads with limited visibility or in conditions of insufficient visibility;
e)a vehicle that overtakes or detours;
d)in tunnels;
f)on roads that have two or more lanes for traffic in one direction;
is)convoy of vehicles, behind which a vehicle is moving with a flashing beacon on (except for orange).
