Beam direction correction is performed using the knob located next to the control panel illumination brightness control knob. The hydrocorrector regulator has 4 positions:
- position I is set when the driver and one passenger in the front seat are in the cabin;
- II - driver and 4 passengers;
- III - a driver with four passengers, as well as cargo in the trunk weighing up to 75 kg;
- IV - the driver with the most loaded trunk.

In VAZ-2107 cars, a hydraulic corrector of type 2105–3718010 is used.
On the back side of the headlight there is a cover that is used when replacing burnt out lamps.
At the VAZ-2107, the plant managed for the first time to apply several progressive solutions for that time at once. First, the domestic halogen light in the headlights. Secondly, the type is a block headlight instead of a separate location of the head light and sidelights. Among the disadvantages of LEDs is the need for special controls, due to which the lighting system becomes more complex and expensive. Unlike conventional lamps, which can be replaced in the event of failure, LEDs cannot be replaced: you have to change the entire module.

In favor of installing bi-xenon lamps, as a rule, the following arguments are given:
- increase in service life. Due to the fact that there is no incandescent filament inside such a lamp, the possibility of its mechanical damage is excluded. It is estimated that the average life span of a bi-xenon lamp is 3 hours, a halogen lamp is 000 hours;
- increased level of light output, which does not depend on the voltage in the circuit, since current conversion occurs in the ignition unit;
- efficiency - the power of such lamps does not exceed 35 watts.
In addition, the driver's eyes are less tired, because he does not have to look at the road thanks to the even and powerful light of bi-xenon lamps.
Among the disadvantages of bi-xenon is the high cost, as well as the need to replace two lamps at once if one of them fails, because the new lamp will burn brighter than the one that has worked for some time.
Comrades, friends! Be prudent, do not put xenon, and even more so do not put it in ordinary headlights, take care of yourself as a last resort, because a driver blinded by you can drive into you!

But if this is not so noticeable on the rear lights, then it is very strong on the front ones ...
The only, in my opinion, very correct solution that I saw somewhere on the Internet, it was the spalling of a regular notch on the glass, the expansion of the base of the headlight and installation from any car from the disassembly of the branded bi-xenon, there were even pictures, if I'm not mistaken, some kind of Vashchov car with guns inside the headlights! It looked very good, and I personally liked the approach to such work, but it is already very laborious ...
Glasses for block headlights VAZ-2107
The standard glasses of the headlights of a VAZ-2107 car can be replaced with acrylic or polycarbonate ones.
Polycarbonate
Polycarbonate glass on car headlights began to be used due to the following unique properties of this material:
- increased strength. According to this indicator, polycarbonate has a 200-fold advantage over glass, therefore, in small collisions, when the glass would necessarily crack, the polycarbonate headlight remains intact;

- availability of restoration. If the appearance of such headlights has lost its original gloss, this is easily corrected by polishing with sandpaper and abrasive paste.
There are also disadvantages of this type of headlights:
- do not resist ultraviolet rays, as a result of which, after a certain time, they turn yellow and become cloudy, reducing the permeability of the emitted light;
- can be damaged by alkaline compounds;
- exposed to esters, ketones and aromatic hydrocarbons.
Acrylic
Acrylic is quite often used when repairing a damaged headlight: you can make new glass by thermoforming. The production of such headlights is simple and cheap, respectively, and the cost of the headlights is quite affordable. Acrylic successfully copes with ultraviolet light, but over time it becomes covered with a large number of microcracks, so the service life of such products is not very long.
Typical headlights malfunctions and methods of their elimination
During operation, the headlight of a car is somehow subjected to mechanical damage and atmospheric factors, therefore, after a certain period of work, it may require repair or restoration.
Glass replacement
To dismantle the VAZ-2107 headlight, you will need an 8 open-end wrench and a Phillips screwdriver. The sequence of actions for removing the headlight is as follows:

Glasses are attached to the headlight housing with a sealant. If it is necessary to replace the glass, the joint should be cleaned from the old sealant, degreased and a new sealing layer applied. Then attach the glass and fix it with masking tape. After 24 hours, the headlight can be replaced.

Replacing lamps
To replace a burned-out high-dipped beam lamp of a VAZ-2107 headlight, you must:
- Disconnect the negative cable from the battery.
- Remove the headlight unit cover by turning it counterclockwise.In order to gain access to the dipped beam lamp, it is necessary to remove the cover of the headlight unit by turning it counterclockwise

Glass cleaning
If the headlight glasses have lost their transparency, you can try to restore their appearance and light transmission by contacting the service station specialists or by restoring the optics yourself. To do this, the car owner will need:
- sandpaper of different grain sizes;
- abrasive and non-abrasive paste;
- Painting tape;
- rags;
- grinder or grinder with a grinding wheel.
Glass restoration work is carried out in the following sequence:
- The headlight is glued around the perimeter with masking tape or a film so that during the work the paintwork of the body is not damaged.
- The surface of the glass is processed with sandpaper, starting with coarser, ending with fine-grained. If grinding is performed mechanically, the surface should be periodically moistened with water.
- The treated surface is thoroughly washed with water.
- Glass is polished with polish and washed again with water.

Daytime running lights
Daytime running lights (DRL) should not be confused with the dimensions: these are lighting devices designed to improve visibility during the daytime. As a rule, DRLs are made on LEDs, which give a bright light and are distinguished by a long working resource.. It is not recommended to turn on the DRL at the same time as the dipped or fog light. To install DRL on a car, it is not necessary to contact a service station, it is quite possible to do it yourself. It is important to take into account that:
- lighting fixtures must be installed in accordance with the requirements of GOST R 41.48–2004;
- The "seven" is not suitable for any DRL. Many car owners install lights like Philips Led Daylight 9;
- most often, DRLs are placed on the bumper or air intake;
- lighting fixtures should be at a height of 250-1500 mm from the ground;
- the distance between the two visible edges of the appliances must be at least 600 mm;
- DRLs can only be located in the front of the car, and the light beam must be directed only forward;
- the total brightness of the light should be in the range of 150-330 lumens.
The DRL connection scheme provides for the presence of a five-pin relay of the M4 012–1Z2G type.
The relay is connected as follows:
- contact No. 30 must be connected to the “plus” of the ignition;
- No. 86 is connected to the button for turning on the dimensions and low beam;
- #87 remains unconnected;
- No. 85 - weight;
- No. 88 (87A) - output to the DRL.
There are several options for connecting DRLs, one of which is designed to turn them off at the time of starting the engine.
In this case, the contacts are connected as follows:
- minus DRL goes to the body;
- plus — on contact relay No. 30;
- pin 87 is connected to the positive of the battery;
- contact 85 - with mass;
- contact 86 is connected to the reed switch, the second contact of which is brought to the positive terminal of the generator.
Headlight adjustment
It is generally accepted that the headlights perform their function if the road in front of the car is well lit, and the drivers of oncoming vehicles are not blinded. To achieve this work of lighting fixtures, they should be properly adjusted. To adjust the headlights of the VAZ-2107, you must:
- Place the car on a flat, strictly horizontal surface at a distance of 5 m from a vertical screen measuring 2x1 m. At the same time, the car must be fully fueled and equipped with all necessary equipment, tires must be inflated to the required pressure.
- Draw a marking on the screen on which line C will mean the height of the headlights, D - 75 mm below C, O - center line, A and B - vertical lines, the intersection of which with C forms points E, corresponding to the centers of the headlights. - Move the hydraulic corrector regulator to the extreme right position (position I).
- Put a load of 75 kg on the driver's seat or put a passenger there.
- Turn on the low beam and cover one of the headlights with an opaque material.

Fog lights
Driving in the rain or snow can create a lot of trouble for the driver, who is forced to drive the car in conditions of poor visibility. In this situation, fog lights (PTF) come to the rescue, the design of which provides for the formation of a light beam that “creeps” over the surface of the roadway. Fog lights are usually yellow, because this color tends to scatter less in fog.
Fog lights are installed, as a rule, under the bumper, at a height of at least 250 mm from the surface of the roadway. The mounting kit for PTF connection includes:
- set of wires;
- relay;
- button.
In addition, a 15A fuse will be required, which will be installed between the relay and the battery. The connection must be made in accordance with the diagram attached to the mounting kit.
