Kymco President: Electric Scooters Will Become More Popular Than Gas-Powered Scooters Soon
Tesla has drawn consumers' attention to electric vehicles, according to the president of Kymco. This is why EVs should be taken seriously, which is why Kymco just announced a new strategy for electrifying two-wheeled vehicles: Combustion scooters and electric scooters will be available side-by-side in the lineup.
Kymco wants to sell electric scooters in addition to diesel scooters. The company believes that the user conversion rate for electric two-wheelers will be over 50 percent (source). It's hard to be surprised at such courage when declaring - whoever tries to ride a scooter in the city knows that it can be colder, but the time to get to your destination is always shorter than in the case of an internal combustion vehicle. There are no problems with parking either, the scooter can be left anywhere on the sidewalk. charging an electric scooter costs a penny.

There is one slightly depressing element in all this bold promise from the president of Kymco: the manufacturer is not planning an aggressive marketing campaign around the world. He's also in no hurry to electrify the current lineup. Rather, he wants to follow the trends and rules set by the local government.
Kymco's first fully electric scooter should be the Kymco Ionex range. It will be equipped with one permanently installed and two removable batteries, which will allow you to travel approximately 100-120 kilometers. The seat will have an additional set of three replaceable batteries, which in total will allow you to travel 200 kilometers on a single charge.
