ReAxs

It is a self-steering rear wheel system with passive dynamics that significantly improves the dynamic tuning of the vehicle used by SAAB.

The adoption of an independent four-wishbone rear suspension allowed the engineers to implement a unique self-steering rear wheel system with passive dynamics (Saab ReAxs).

ReAxs

During steering, the kinetics of the rear axle causes very little deflection of both rear wheels in the opposite direction to the direction of travel of the steering: that is, there is deflection for the outer wheel and toe for the inner wheel. This deflection depends both on the turning radius and on the corresponding load on the rear axle.

This measure is sufficient to prevent excessive understeer: when the driver is forced to increase the steering angle to turn the car's nose, ReAxs reduces the effect (drift) by helping the rear to follow the direction of the front wheels instead. nose.

For the rider, all this means better stability and, as a result, more reliability and steering response.
