The luggage roll already deserves a separate chapter, since it is no longer a carelessly laid fabric, with which you always look for a hole for fastening, but a large piece of cover that moves smoothly and silently along the rails.

He removes it by simply pressing the handle and setting it with a careful and precise motion towards the back. Under it there is high-quality upholstery, from which you can pull out two hooks for transporting bags (how useful for a store!), And two more closed drawers are hidden on the sides.

For larger items, the designers provided good anchors, but to prevent luggage from slipping, they also installed a barrier that you raise from the bottom of the trunk to create a rectangular obstacle. Well, so that small things don't run long distances over large ones, but thanks to the dynamic exterior shape at the top of the slightly stripped trunk, you also have the option of transporting under the main bottom of the trunk, as there is another (protective) layer between the emergency tire and the trunk.

Believe me, the boots on Grandtour were not only increased, the designers apparently also slept in it, as they used it in every possible way. Bravo!

The Laguna is probably unnecessarily ignored as we always think of the Passat, the new Mondeo, the Mazda6. ... when it comes to family sedans (and station wagon versions). Why the Renault model is cornered, we do not know, perhaps it has something sharp and unusual body shape that many simply do not like. If we look deeper into its interior, we see a pleasant and well thought out atmosphere for passengers.

The cut steering wheel is clearly visible, but it is better to leave it on the factory shelves, as it interferes with its main function (steering wheel turn!). The large center display is good at conveying Carminat's excellent navigation messages and only fails in bright sunlight, and the quality materials prove Renault didn't have a damn thing in their pockets when they claimed they wanted to create the best car in their class.

In short, they wanted an excellent student, and he doesn't miss the title that much! But good materials alone are not enough for a great driver: the driver's seat can provide a lower position (so it will be a great helper for short drivers or fragile drivers!), Electric power steering can be more indirect (annoying, especially on slippery roads). when you don't know what's going on with the drive wheels!) and the ESP warning is more attentive.

The first time you get scared is when the ESP kicks in, as half of the dashboard turns bright red. I confess, I first thought about engine breakdown! You can trust us that it doesn't take long for a good stabilization system to work, as the engine, which produces up to 127 kilowatts, breathes efficiently when the accelerator pedal is roughly used in the lower gears of the six-speed gearbox. Due to sound insulation, it is very quiet inside, at around 1.750 rpm it wakes up and easily pulls up to the XNUMX mark on the tachometer, when a solid red field begins.

But you don't even need to drive at such high speeds to get the best performance; if we switch to a higher gear at just under four thousandths, the turbo diesel "horses" will be quite happy to bring you to a top speed well above 200 km / h. fast transmission, reliable brakes ...), you will especially love the softness of the steering and the many systems to which we can refer to the word "pampering".

A smart card, cruise control, radio with CD player and steering wheel controls, automatic dual-zone air conditioning and even seat heating elevate the driver's ego, while perfect shifting assistance ensures you're rarely seen at gas stations, despite " stable'.

When we asked in the introduction where this machine started to work, we came to the conclusion that it is not that important at all. More important is how they ended it. Laguna deserves this stamp at the end of the manufacturing process, when the workmanship is last checked. So the next time you think of Volkswagen, Mazda, or Ford, think of Renault. You may be pleasantly surprised after your test drive.
