How many times a year do you need to have your vehicle inspected? How can I pay emergency expenses?

Technical inspection and periodic inspection - find out the differences

Readers who don't own a car deserve a few words of introduction. Both of these terms sound very similar, but mean different services. Technical inspection is mandatory for all cars on the road. Depending on the age of the car, they should be performed at different intervals:

  • new cars: the first test must be carried out after 3 years from the date of purchase, the next - after 2 years, and the next every year,
  •  old cars are inspected every year,
  •  vehicles equipped with an electrical installation, regardless of their age, are also subject to annual inspection.

The cost of such a test is PLN 99, for a car with an electrical system PLN 162. In order to perform it, you must contact the inspection point (SKP).

Why is technical inspection so important?

Millions of vehicles travel daily on national roads. For this reason, it is important that each of them is in a technical condition that allows you to move around safely. During the technical inspection, the main elements of the equipment responsible for safety are checked:

  • tire condition,
  • brake system,
  • depreciation system,
  • chassis (control of the so-called backlash),
  • possible leakage of working fluids.

In case of defects in the car, we are obliged to visit the workshop to eliminate them. We have 14 days for this, after which, after the next check, we will receive confirmation in the form of an entry in the registration document about the positive passing of the test.

Periodic Inspection is a check that we carry out at an Authorized Dealer Service Station.

It follows from the recommendations of the car manufacturer and ensures that the warranty is maintained for a period of, as a rule, 3-5 years, depending on the brand of the car being purchased. Periodic inspections are usually carried out every 15-20 thousand. km. Most drivers, after the warranty period expires, due to the high cost of ASO, usually choose inspections and repairs in ordinary services, of which there are thousands in our country.

The frequency of inspection of the car depends on its age and the number of kilometers traveled.

Owners of new vehicles are limited to the so-called standard checks at ASO, during which, incl. oil and filters. In new cars - at least in principle - nothing should break, and the service life of parts is designed for 2-3 years of trouble-free operation. Owners of older cars have a completely different situation, and there is nothing to hide - they are in the majority. In many ways, this state of affairs is due to the importation of cars from the west to Poland, the age of which exceeds 10-12 years.

As the owner of an older car, we must take into account the fact that we will have to visit the workshop more often to replace items subject to natural wear, such as brake pads, discs, alternator belt or spark plugs. It is also worth replacing the battery every few years to be sure that the car will not let you down at the most unexpected moment.

One of the repairs that drivers are afraid of because of the high cost is replacing the timing belt. Another rather serious malfunction is clutch repair, not to mention the failure of the gearbox. Sometimes a more serious repair can cost up to several thousand zlotys, which, given the relatively low price of an old car, means a real problem. Safe and comfortable driving is impossible without efficient dampers and suspension arms.

It is important to note that many of the above elements are subject to natural wear and tear, and in their case, the need for replacement is a consequence of the passage of time, and not failure. Keep this in mind when buying a used car. Very often it turns out that when looking at a car, we focus on its appearance, equipment and country of origin, but forget a little about how the mechanism works. An attractive purchase price can somehow hide the high degree of wear and tear of many components, which will result in subsequent visits to the service center.

For this reason, if we are short of several thousand zlotys, it is worth using online installment loans from a hapi loan and buy a slightly newer car, reducing the likelihood of numerous repairs soon after its purchase.

It's hard to say exactly how often a vehicle should be inspected, but one thing seems certain.

The older the car, the more elements can fail in it. On the other hand, after the repair is made, it should last a long time if something else does not break during this time. The best solution seems to be a visit to the service, checked by someone close to you, and a professional assessment of what work needs to be done. Then we have clarity – we can budget and order repairs without stress in order to have relative peace of mind in the coming years.

And so we can move on to a short price list of such services, which will surely interest our readers.

Are you planning a visit to a car service? - be willing to spend

The prices below are, of course, approximate. The final cost of repairs depends both on the brand of the car and on the prices in individual services. However, they give a point of reference:

  • replacement of brake pads is recommended on average every 30-50 thousand. kilometers; front and rear: from 12 euros
  • replacement of brake pads: recommended on average every 60-100 thousand kilometers; from 13 euros per set,
  • replacement of a set of spark plugs is recommended every 30-40 thousand kilometers; from 6 euro
  • a new alternator belt costs about 3 euros
  • a new battery costs 250-30 euros, but this is an investment for at least 5 years,
  • clutch replacement - from 40 euros to more than 150 euros depending on the car model,
  • timing belt replacement is one of the most expensive repairs, the price of which starts from 50 euros, but very often significantly exceeds 1500-200 euros

Of course, to the above prices, you must add labor costs, which are not cheap. Services accrue rewards for each action separately. Even 100-20 euros with a few parts replaced at the end of the repair results in 100 euros, which must be added to the price of the part. Therefore, it is easy to conclude that an average car repair can cost 2-3 thousand. gold and no major crashes. In another case, it may even be 4-5 thousand. zloty.

It is unlikely that anyone is ready for such expenses. For this reason, if we find ourselves in a situation requiring immediate action, it is worth contacting installment loan from hapiloans. Thanks to the actual annual interest rate of APRC – 9,81% and the ability to start repayment in 2 months from the moment the money arrives, even expensive repairs will be easier to fit into the budget.
