Removing the trapezium and replacing the wiper motor on the VAZ 2107

Often, the owners of the VAZ 2107 have to deal with such a problem as the failure of the motor of the wipers (wipers). In most cases, it burns out in winter, when the driver turns on the wipers, and at this time they are stuck to the windshield along with ice. The load on the motor increases dramatically and it may fail.

To replace this part with a VAZ 2107, you need a minimum of tools, namely:

• Open-end or box spanner 22
• Socket head 10
• Small extension cord
• Crank or ratchet handle

Repair procedure

The first step is to unscrew the nuts securing the wiper arms, as shown in the photo below:

Then, bending the lever, remove it from the seat:

Next, we take a large key for 22 and use it to unscrew the trapezoid mounts from both sides, both the right and left wiper:

Then we remove the plastic inserts:

Now you need to remove the bonnet gum, which is shown below:

And by disconnecting the power plug from the wiper motor:

Remove it together with the wire from the hole in the body:

Next, we proceed to removing the motor, or rather unscrewing the nuts of its fastening, which become well accessible after we bend the protective cover:

It is most convenient to unscrew the ratchet handle:

After that, we press on the projections of the slots from the back side, on which the wiper arms sit, so that they fall inward, and after small manipulations with turns in different directions, the trapezoid assembly with the motor should be removed without much difficulty:

If you decide to make a replacement, then a new part will cost you around 1500 rubles completely assembled, that is, both the motor and the trapezoid.
