The meeting participants said that the cars that will be built in the coming years will be even more based on electronics than today. Distance sensors, fatigue sensors and sensors that will force the vehicle to brake near the school without driver intervention will improve the safety of road users. In the event of an accident, the car automatically sends a signal for help via GPS.

 

At the moment, specialists from Japan are developing a system that will take control of the vehicle in a situation where the driver begins to behave strangely, for example, changing lanes abruptly and frequently. In the meantime, Austria is testing vehicles equipped with a personal assistant: a multimedia mobile phone with navigation software that transmits traffic information via satellite to headquarters. Similar tests are being carried out in Sweden on 5 cars with an electronic system that regulates the speed depending on obstacles on the road: traffic jams, accidents, repairs.
