The debut of the all-wheel drive Japanese SUV Subaru Ascent took place at the Los Angeles Auto Show, which took place at the end of 2017. The model appeared on the market in the spring of next year. The SUV replaced the B9 Tribeca, which went out of production in 2014. The novelty is the largest in the model range of the Japanese automaker. A feature of the SUV is a black radiator grille and impressive dimensions, head optics, like that of the Forester, and black air intake zones in the front bumper. At the stern, the lanterns are connected by a decorative strip.

The 2017 Subaru Ascent is based on the same global platform as the Impreza. Only it is stretched and reinforced, as it is an SUV. A non-alternative gasoline engine (boxer) equipped with a turbocharger is installed under the hood of the car. Its volume is 2.4 liters. It works in tandem with a wedge-chain variator, which can optionally be equipped with an imitation of a manual shift.
