A full-fledged SUV of the Ulyanovsk Automobile Plant in the Patriot series has been produced since 2005. For all the time of production there was only one generation of the model and several restyled modifications.
The next changes were introduced at the end of 2019. What is interesting for this off-road vehicle now?
Auto design
Compared to previous updates (2016-2018), the appearance of the model has not changed. This is the usual 5-door SUV without elaborate body elements. From the latest modification, the Patriot received a massive front bumper with foglights mounted in the air intakes.

A large grille connects the optics on which the LED running lights are located. The buyer can now choose the wheel size - 16 or 18 inches.
How does a car go?
The main emphasis on what the manufacturer did in the 2019 model line is a technical update. And first of all - the characteristics for off-road driving. In the new Patriot, maneuverability has improved. The steering has become tougher and more precise. Manufacturers eliminated the free wheeling of the steering wheel.
The model is equipped with a front axle from UAZ Profi, which allows you to reduce the turning radius by 80 centimeters. The anthers of the CV joints are made of durable rubber, so that the car is not afraid of either branches or rocky off-road.
On a flat road, a car becomes boring because it is not designed for high-speed driving. The manufacturer claims that the new model eliminated flaws due to which it was previously noisy in the cabin. Although when driving on a flat surface, the motor is still clearly audible, like the older brother of this series.
Technical specifications
The power unit, which was used in the 2016-18 models, was finalized, and now instead of 135 horsepower it develops 150 hp. Previously, the maximum thrust was reached at 3 rpm, and after the upgrade, the bar dropped to 900 rpm.
The motor became more high-torque, thanks to which the car gained confidence on prolonged climbs and in difficult terrain. The machine calmly overcomes a slope of 8%, even on a rocky or snowy road.

In addition to the engine, the gearbox was also modified. A mechanical and automatic transmission is now available in this series. On the mechanics, the gearshift lever was changed, and now it transfers less vibration from the box.

Transmission UAZ "Patriot" is rich in different settings that allow you to overcome ford up to 40 centimeters, and snow drifts - up to 500 mm. The front suspension is dependent with springs, and the rear suspension is on springs.
Salon
Car designers have kept the interior practical for suburban trips. Three adults can comfortably sit in the back seat. Handrails are fixed on the racks inside the car, facilitating the embarkation and disembarkation of passengers with short stature.
The security system is equipped with a hill start assistant, as well as a parking assistant with a rear-view camera (option). Interior trim - eco leather (optional), heated steering wheel, front seats - with several adjustment modes.
The trunk is spacious, but not very practical. It is possible to place many things in it, however, it will be difficult to fix them, since the body is not equipped with hooks, for which you can hook the mounting rope.
Fuel consumption
Thinking about fuel consumption, it should be borne in mind that, first of all, this car was created for driving in difficult terrain. Therefore, the motor is much more "gluttonous" of analogues, adapted for trips in the city (for example, these are crossovers).

Riding over rough terrain may require twice as much gasoline than the same distance along the highway. Therefore, there is no single indicator of fuel consumption in mixed mode.

The maintenance schedule established by the manufacturer is limited to 15 km. However, considering the operation of the machine in non-standard conditions, the driver should count on a shorter interval. It is best to play it safe and service the car after every 000 km.

When approaching the odometer reading of 100 km, the driver needs to listen for sounds coming from the engine compartment. One of the Patriot's weaknesses is the timing drive. Weak chains are made for such a model, so it is better to replace the kit as soon as an unnatural sound is heard from the motor.
