Test Kratek: Volkswagen Tiguan 2.0 TDI (125 кВт) 4Motion Sport & Style

Slightly less powerful two-liter TDI (103 кВт) we tested the updated version last year (AM 18-2011), this time it was more powerful in the test (125 kW), with manual transmission and the same equipment (Sport & Style). The latter is a designation for a version designed for less demanding off-road driving, with a far lowered front bumper. What is interesting, however, is that this time the Tiguan has almost the same purchase price as our previous one (with a "smaller" engine and dual-clutch transmission).

The Tiguan follows Volkswagen's design principles.

The appearance of the Tiguan is actually completely in line with the spirit of Volkswagen. Not specific, but expressive enough that we could not take it for anything else. It's the same with the interior. Nice composition of high quality plastic and Alcantara inserts it provides comfort on conventional fabric seat covers, but it is also unobtrusive and perfect for use. This also applies to the control buttons on the steering wheel and even to the buttons around the control screen, where a lot of information is transmitted.

The only thing that bothered him a little was the hands-free system, which sometimes connected to the phone without problems, and sometimes could not do it at all. The radio with a six-CD player is a welcome refresh, but hinders the ability to connect to external players via the AUX output/input only. This is where the Volkswagen philosophy seems a bit backward, after all. CD usage is already falling sharply.

The most powerful turbodiesel is successful Volkswagen add-on

Although he had our Tiguan Manual Transmission, gear shifting was no problem, it was a perfect match for the most powerful turbo diesel Tiguan. This engine seems to be a very good addition to Volkswagen's sales program, as it gives us the opportunity to use all of its capabilities (and the increased average fuel consumption to about 10 liters per 100 km) or a more moderate drive in which the engine is not working. be bad. 'pivca', as it was possible to achieve an average of 6,7 liters per 100 km with mixed urban and suburban driving.

If we get used to it electric parking brakes, the electric parking brake system does not bother us, as it is signed: with the “auto-stop” enabled, the electric brake is activated at every stop, and when starting we should not be too impatient, but we should wait when we start the brake is automatically released.

How spacious is the little Tuareg?

The Tiguan roominess discussion can be a very interesting topic, as readers have already learned from Dušan's text on the AM 21/2011 test. For families, the trunk can be a little small, but for a slightly older generation of buyers (and the Tiguan has quite a few), such a moderately large trunk is not the biggest drawback due to the appropriate external length. After all, the way you get into the car and the high seat is what most customers like for its comfort!

  • Volkswagen has produced one of the most complete midsize SUVs with the Tiguan, which its competitors have not fully achieved, although many may be even better on one criterion.
