Grille test: Fiat Panda 4 × 4 1.3 M-JET

The third generation panda has been on the market for just over a year, but it seems that even the third generation will not gain enough followers from Slovenian buyers. Unlike, say, Italian buyers, who value mainly the small size of cars and their ease of use, this cannot be said about our market. Just look at the statistics of sales. Not only Panda, but any car with an external length of less than 3,7 meters does not have suitable options for our customers. Even though it's a Panda, and even if we add two otherwise popular automotive features - an all-wheel drive SUV with a turbodiesel engine.

All this is what impressed this tried and tested Panda the most. How easy it is to drive through the city streets and find a parking spot! How pleasantly economical the 1,3-litre turbodiesel is on most trips! And also how amazing climbing skills this panda shows you on almost impassable terrain!

In short, this is an incredibly good idea for anyone looking for basic automotive features. Therefore, it does not surprise me at all that we see much more of them in the mountainous regions of Italy, Switzerland or Austria than here. Because there the Panda 4 × 4 is considered usability, where the Panda can easily compete and even beat larger SUVs, mainly because of its agility. Even on the tracks of our trolleys, the Panda 4 × 4 is unbeatable. It is narrow enough to punch through bushes without scratches (so that there is as much plastic formwork on the sides as possible). Even her bike is strong enough to take her to some initially "impassable" slope.

At the same time, of course, it can be used for driving around the city or on the highway. Surprise again. Reaching the maximum allowed speed is not a problem, and the high torque also allows it to take acceptable accelerations at lower revs.

It also works well in terms of fuel consumption, and our average test rate of 5,3 liters of oil per 100 kilometers does not tell all about how modest it can be, since we only used 4,8 liters of fuel on our test circuit.

Then there is the question of equipment or nobility that Fiat has dedicated to the interior. If he is as rich as ours, you can spend a kilometer more in Panda, but only if you are tall enough or not too tall. The undersigned had a few quarrels with the driver's seat due to its too short seat and poor or missing thigh support, which affects the driving experience.

So if I decided to buy, I would try to find a better place for myself. There is no more suitable machine that combines maneuverability and cross-country ability.
