👨‍🔧 How to remove tint from a car?

If you want to remove tinted windows from your car, you can easily do it yourself with a few tools. Really, multiple methods can be used to completely remove them without leaving any residue. Follow our step-by-step guide to easily complete this operation.

Required material:

• Protective gloves
• Protective glasses
• Резак
• Marseilles soap
• Newspaper
• Ammonia bottle
• Hairdryer

Step 1: Peel off the film from the newspaper

Dampen newspaper and soak in Marseilles soap to remove the film. Then glue the sheets of newspaper to the glass where you want to remove the tint film. Using a cutter, carefully cut through the fine notches to avoid damaging the glass.

Step 2: add soapy water

If the film is difficult to remove and resists, do not try to pull hard. Add soapy water to the sheets of newspaper and wait 30 minutes before proceeding with the cutter.

Step 3. Turn on your hair dryer or steam cleaner.

If the first two steps did not help remove the tint film, you can use a hairdryer. At high temperature, it can be easily peeled off and peel off the film. Note that you should start at a corner to make it easier to remove the entire film.

Step 4: use ammonia

This chemical cleaner can melt glue, particularly in the corners of windows. Take care of protecting the interior surfaces of your windows. For this operation, gloves, a mask and safety glasses must be worn.

📝 How to challenge a fine for tinted glass?

From January 1, 2017, if your car is equipped with glass tinting more than 30%, you will incur a fine in the amount of 135€ and deduction of 3 points from your driving license. To dispute this fine, you can do so in 45 day delay after sending this ticket.

The dispute can be carried out mail or directly on the government website ANTAI which is the national agency for the automated processing of offenses.
