Requirements for persons driving horse-drawn vehicles and animal drivers

7.1

Driving horse-drawn vehicles and driving animals on the road is permitted to people no younger than 14 years of age.

7.2

The horse-drawn carriage (sled) must be equipped with retroreflectors: in front of white, in back - red.

7.3

To move at night and in conditions of insufficient visibility on horse-drawn vehicles, it is necessary to turn on the lights: in front - white, back - red, mounted on the left side of the wagon (sled).

7.4

In case of leaving the road from an adjacent territory or from a secondary road in places with limited visibility, the driver of the wagon (sled) must lead the animal under the bridle, for an excuse.

7.5

Carriage of people by horse-drawn transport is permitted subject to conditions precluding the possibility of passengers being outside the side and rear dimensions of the vehicle.

7.6

It is allowed to drive a herd of animals along the road only during daylight hours, while such a number of drivers are involved so that it is possible to direct the animals as close as possible to the right edge of the road and not create danger and obstacles to other road users.

7.7

Persons driving horse-drawn vehicles and animal drivers are prohibited from:

a)Drive on roads of national importance (if possible, drive on local roads);
b)use carts not equipped with retroreflectors, without lights in the dark and in conditions of insufficient visibility;
at)leave animals without supervision on the right of way and graze them;
d)drive animals along roads with improved pavement if there are other roads nearby;
e)drive animals along the roads at night and in conditions of insufficient visibility;
d)drive animals over railways and roads with improved coverage outside designated areas.

7.8

People driving horse-drawn vehicles and animal drivers are required to comply with the requirements of other paragraphs of these Rules regarding drivers and pedestrians and not contradicting the requirements of this section.
